DIY Guide

Unclog a siphon without harsh chemicals

A slow drain is usually hair or soap in the trap. Mechanical cleaning often fixes it — kinder to pipes and the environment.

Prep

  • Bucket under the siphon
  • Gloves and cloths
  • Adjustable wrench if needed

Method

  1. Place a bucket — water will come out.
  2. Loosen the coupling nuts carefully.
  3. Empty and rinse the bend; remove hair and sludge.
  4. Refit hand-tight and flush with warm water.
Caution: avoid random corrosive mixes — they can damage PVC.

Siphons and tools: Sanitary and PVC.
